Organization Management

All quality measures can be divided as follows:
Qualitätsmanagement

In order to apply quality standards to your organization, certain norms and standards can be helpful guidelines.
The following norms and standards are especially important:
  • EN ISO 9000 defines the foundations and terms of Quality Management Systems.
  • EN ISO 9001:2015 determines the minimal requirements of a Quality Management System.
  • EN ISO 9004 is a compendium which describes the effectiveness and efficiency of Quality Management Systems. Included are directions for the introduction of Total-Quality-Management (TQM).
  • ISO/IEC 25000 contains the Software Engineering quality criterias and evaluation of software products, Software Product Quality Requirements and Evaluation (SQuaRE).

A traditional orgranization is linearly/hierarchically oriented.
An Agile Organization is iterative oriented.

In software development the Waterfall Method is traditionally preferred.
In Agile Organizations today mostly the Scrum Framework is used.

Agile methods today will be used in more than 75 % of all software development.

The Waterfall Model
After defining the product in limited analysis, development and test phases, a sequential plan is followed.
This requires a relatively long time period. The customer receives the results at the end of the project.

The Agile Method
The process is divided into small phases (Sprints) in which increments are produced and can be delivered to the customer.
Through close collaboration with the customer, the final product will fulfill all the requirements of the customer.
Neither every organization nor every product is suited to this method.

Scrum
  • is not a method for software development, rather a framework for professional software development
  • doesn‘t lead to increased efficiency
  • concentrated on a single product, therefore not faster or cheaper
  • needs the high professionalism of an experienced developer
  • self-organization requires leadership
  • is not suitable for:
  • order confirmation in preproduction without possibility of ongoing adaptions
  • heterogenous products with longterm integration processes
  • Be careful of fixed price projects.

The organizational structure fits dynamically with value-added processes.
The organization maintains permanent communication.
Only the effective, planable, and controllable tasks are planned and nothing more.
The focus depends on the continuous and sustained support of the product life cycle.

The SCARF model involves five domains of human social experience: Status, Certainty, Autonomy, Relatedness and Fairness.

  1. The starting shot
  2. 100-day-plan
  3. Product release
  4. Transition Team
  5. Pilot-Scrum-Team
